No worries, that's a great question. A CNAME is basically an alias, or alternative name, that you'd give a domain name so that it points to another domain name. A common example of this would be a URL that people would visit that routes them to another URL.
It shouldn't cost any extra to use it. What context did you see it in here? In a feature description? Perhaps we can help clarify for you.
