cname

Hi can anyone tell me what cname is? I am brand new to this and don't know. Does it cost extra to use it?

cname

Hi Walt,

No worries, that's a great question. A CNAME is basically an alias, or alternative name, that you'd give a domain name so that it points to another domain name. A common example of this would be a URL that people would visit that routes them to another URL.

It shouldn't cost any extra to use it. What context did you see it in here? In a feature description? Perhaps we can help clarify for you.

Thanks,
