virtual pc phone software instead of physical phone.

Been playing around with the dashboard. Really cool, im loving it. Question on physical phones vs pc software.

Currently i am using the number i purchased from the roost as complete automation through dashboard. IE: menu's forwarding and voicemail.

No physical phone.

And i dont really want one.

Instead i would rather have a software program that uses the number i purchased from Roost as well as the pc/tablet/smartphone's speakers and mic to create a virtual phone.

Can someone point me in the right direction with regards to what software options are out there.

Hi Anthony,

From our experience Zoiper is the best softphone option. You will want to use the RingRoost "SIP Phone" control to register your Zoiper Softphone so you can start making/receiving calls.

The process for registering a softphone (virtual phone) is pretty much the same as registering a hardphone. See here: http://www.ringroost.com/how-to-set-up-and-register-a-sip-phone.php

Yep as long as you have internet, and there are no long distance charges.
