Inbound phone rings once then disconnects

I'm having issues getting any SIP phone to work.

If I set up a PBX with an "Answer Phone" control linked to a "menu" control my ringroost number (UK number) rings when called, picks up and announces the menu as entered in the "menu" control,...all is well. However, as soon as I introduce a "SIP phone" control into the equation it all falls apart. I set up a PBX with only an "Answer phone" control linked to a "sip phone" control with a voice mail box. I'm assuming that without a sip phone connected the call will be routed to the voicemail box. However, when I call my ringroost number a single ring tone is heard then all goes silient before the call is disconnected. Even if I connect a sip phone to the the PBX the behaviour is the same and the SIP phone never rings although it says it is registered (I am behind a NAT and have tried it with and without the NAT option enabled). My assumptions regarding the behaviour of the "sip phone" control and mail box may without a connected physical SIP phone or may not be valid but it simply will not work with or without a physical SIP phone connected to the PBX "sip phone" control.

Any idea what may be going on. I have tried different physical sip phones and a soft sip (Zoiper). I have deleted my original PBX and started from fresh but as soon as I introduce a SIP control to the PBX it all fails.

Hi Lee,

It does not look your SIP phone registered properly.

To ensure it's not a network issue, try testing again with Zoiper see instructions: https://www.ringroost.com/blog/registering-a-zoiper-softphone-with-ringroost/

Have just repeated and the behaviour remains the same. If I dial my ringroost number I hear the ring tone for one ring and then nothing but silience. The log shows the call with the to and from numbers but with a status of CHANUNAVAIL. If ZOIPER is disconnected, the call does not go to the mail box but just disconnects after 1 ring.

When dialing out with Zoiper it dials out and connectswithout issue and all behaves as I would expect.

Inbound phone rings once then disconnects

Hi Lee,

It looks like your phone is registering with our US server rather than UK server (which is handling the UK phone number).

Using "r2.ringroost.com" instead or "ringroost.com" as your SIP server should resolve this issue.

Thanks,
