Twilio Numbers

"Using your own SIP number on RingRoost (Advanced). For those SIP knowledgeable users, in keeping with our "open" philosophy, we don't require that you use RingRoost as your carrier. You can register any SIP capable number (including Twilio numbers) with RingRoost and then leverage our PBX builder to set up your phone system."

Can you explain this a little bit more. How would I get my twilio number working without transfering it over to ringroost. I might just not be understanding this correctly. Thanks

Twilio Numbers

Hi Derek,

This is a two step process.

First you need to Assign the number to RingRoost (so wo know about it) then you need to update your "Request" url for that number in twilio.

1. Assigning a number to RingRoost

Under drop down on right side -> Account Settings -> click "Assign a number to RingRoost" -> Call your number and enter to pin to verify.

2.Update your twilio number request url

Within your twilio dashboard, edit the number url to point to:

https://www.ringroost.com/sip.php?id=yourfullnumberhere

Note: replace "yourfullnumberehere" with your number with leading country code: ie:

https://www.ringroost.com/sip.php?id=17045851413

You should then be able to setup the number on your PBX just like any RingRoost number. Note: that twilio charges will apply as well as RingRoost charges.

Thanks,
