grandstream gxp1405

I have setup my zopier software sip client, and it dials in/out fine.

I'm trying to get my grandstream gxp 1405 dialing in/out, but I get a busy signal dialing out (it does show up in the phone log however). When trying to dial in, it tells me "the number or code you've dialed is incorrect".

Is there something I'm missing on the grandstream gxp1405 setup?

thanks

Update: by enabling STUN server for NAT traversal, I was able to get inbound calling working.

Outbound from the grandstream gxp1405 is still not working....I'm thinking there's some setting I'm missing with the dial plan on the phone, or something to the like.

Any pointers/suggestions are appreciated!!

Bryan,

Make sure that your phone codec is set to ulaw(pcmu 8000), then restart your phone.

Codec is usually the culprit here, but if that does not work see: http://www.ringroost.com/how-to-set-up-and-register-a-sip-phone.php#step_4_2

i've checked those settings, and they're correct...is it possible to coordinate a screen sharing session?

Bryan,

Unfortunately we don't provide remote support for screen sharing.

Try setting g729 as your primary codec. It looks like one of your phones is trying to use g723 as it's primary codec. Some networks restrict VoIP to low bandwidth codecs. We don't support g723, but we do support g729.

I've tried playing around with the audio codecs as you'd suggested.

Still no outbound dialing, and I can't call other phone extensions from this phone....but I CAN call this phone from other extensions, and from the outside world.

This all seems to point back to dial plan.....I wish there was a live monitoring, or logging feature for my pbx, so that I can see how my outbound call attempts are being handled.

On your website, under step 4 (setup), you've stated:

"or contact ringroost support@ringroost.com who can usually do this virtually by setting up a screen sharing session with you."

Is there a fee you can charge me to help me?

I know that within 10 minutes I could have this fixed with your help.

Please let me know, thanks!!!
