VERY NEW to Ringroost and PBX Phones/ Can make calls, cannot receive calls

So here's my setup which I'm sure is wrong and incomplete. I feel like there should be more there. Right now, there's no second phone, extensions, or anything like that. I'm just trying to set up a PBX phone for podcasting purposes.

That's what it looks like.

I'm currently using a Grandstream GXP1405 phone. I ran a cable from my router to the back of my phone and INTO the LAN outlet. I also have the handset connected INTO the handset outlet on the back of the phone.

Now if I call my cell phone from the Grandstream phone, it calls my cell phone (admittedly a little slower than I'd like after I entered the last digit, but that's ok). But the problem is if I call the Grandstream phone from my cell phone, it dials for one second and automatically hangs up. I'd like to move forward and work on connecting the phone to my mixer via a JK Audio Innkeeper Digital Hybrid, but before I do anything like that, I MUST make sure the phone is working correctly...

Like I said, I am COMPLETELY new to this and I'm just trying to learn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reaching out, sorry for the trouble you're experiencing.

I think you might find this page from our resources guide helpful. It goes through the steps of setting up and registering your SIP phone:

https://www.ringroost.com/how-to-set-up-and-register-a-sip-phone.php#step_4_1

If you do all that and find your setup still isn't working, get in touch and let us know. We'll need to know the specifics of your process, as that makes it easier for us to understand what went into the outcome. We're happy to help.

Thanks,
