I have two numbeer with different area codes. But only one caller ID (303 areacode) is reported on the receiving end of a call I make. It is the Caller ID of the first number I purchased. When I call out on the second number (559 area code) the person receiving the call sees my ID as being the other number (303 area code) instead of the number assigned to the line (559 area code)

Is that the way it is supposed to work? I had hoped to appear as calling from the other area code.

It shows the number of the IP phone line that is being used. Are you using a phone with 2 lines? If that is the case you need to make sure you select that line number.
